Rapid prototyping: from idea to product in a few days
The most expensive mistake in a new product is finding out too late that something doesn't work. Rapid prototyping solves exactly that: you hold the part in your hand, test it, fix it — in days, not months.
What rapid prototyping is
It's the process of quickly turning a concept into a physical, testable object using 3D printing. Instead of ordering an expensive mold or waiting on an external supplier, you print the prototype locally and move straight to the next iteration.
Why speed matters
Every day an idea stays only on paper (or on screen) is a day without real feedback. With rapid prototyping:
- Cheap iteration — fix a shape, a dimension or a fitting and reprint the next day
- Test early — catch assembly, ergonomics or strength issues before production
- Easier to convince — a physical prototype sells the idea to investors, clients or your team far better than a render
What you can prototype
- Functional parts — components that fit together, move or bear loads
- Cases and enclosures — for electronics, devices, products
- Ergonomics models — to check how an object feels in the hand
- Presentation models — for pitches and market validation
- Test parts before tooling — validate the geometry before investing in mass production
How the process works
1. Idea or file. Come with a 3D model (STEP, STL, OBJ) or just a sketch — if you have no model, we build it via 3D modeling.
2. Quote in 24h. We tell you the recommended material, cost and timeline.
3. Printing. We pick the technology and material for the job — from PLA for form checks to technical materials for real functional tests.
4. Iteration. You test, send adjustments, we reprint. We repeat until it's right.
Who it's for
- Startups validating a physical product before funding
- Engineers testing parts and mechanisms
- Product designers checking form and ergonomics
- Manufacturers who want a prototype before a large run
From prototype to small batch
Once the prototype is validated, we don't leave you hanging: we can move straight to a small batch via 3D printing, without the cost of a mold. Ideal for the first tens or hundreds of units, until volume justifies mass production.
